Blue smoke on cold start and oil consumption
Hi all
Hoping someone can advise. F30 335d , dpf is gutted and I’m getting a puff of blue smoke on cold start. It’s only on cold start and never when I start if the car is warm. Also doesn’t seem to smoke while driving I’ve also noticed that it’s consuming oil as the oil minimum warming came up so I topped up a litre and I’ve never had that before. Any ideas on what it could be? Any help appreciated |

I would say to first check the PCV system. The diaphragm can break causing liquid oil (as opposed to just vapour) to trickle into the Inlet Manifold.
Failing that - it could be Turbo Seals or Valve stem oil seals possibly. |

Thanks with the PCV is it just a visual check by taking the engine cover off?
I guess with the turbo seal or valve stems there’s no tests I can do to confirm and will need a garage Although I thought i saw a test by letting the car idle for 5 mins then revving and if theres smoke it would indicate valve stems? |

Got my car booked in at a specialist in a few weeks so hopefully they’ll resolve.
I did scan it via bimmerlink and errors came up for 5 different injectors. Would injectors cause similar symptoms to what I’m getting? Appreciate any help. Thanks |
