I'm pretty sure that the Edit button was disabled the entire time, even after reading and saving the VO. I will try again later this evening and report back. Thanks for the help!!!
As soon as you name and save FA, Edit becomes available.

Edit: See my post below (#74) for my final solution.

You are correct. Of course. Sorry about that.

I feel like I'm really close now, but the FA is not getting written to the car. Sorry that I'm so slow. Thanks for your patience and generosity.

Here are the steps that I just tried:
  1. launch E-Sys (using E-Sys Ultra and E-Sys 22.06)
  2. establish vehicle connection
  3. Expert Mode-Coding
  4. VO-Read
  5. VO-Save
  6. VO-Edit, which automatically opens Editors & Viewers-FA Editor
  7. HO Wort folder is empty
  8. right click HO Wort, New-HO Wort
  9. enter "SPBR" for the new HO Wort, which causes a red X to appear on the FA folder
  10. right click FA folder, calculate FP
  11. after FP finishes calculating, I can see in the "Vehicle Profile" list that the folder "[8] Aftermarket_Fitment" contains "[1957] SPBR_18_ZOLL_SPORTBRAKE"
  12. I'm not sure what to do from here.
  13. click save icon at the top of the window
  14. Expert Mode-Coding, which displays a dialogue box stating that the file has changed and asking if I want to reload it when the module switches
  15. select Yes in the dialogue box, and the Vehicle Profile within Expert Mode-Coding shows the SPBR entry under Aftermarket_Fitment.
  16. right click VO-FA folder, Activate FA
  17. SVT Actual-Read (VCM)
  18. right click SVT-ECUs-DSC folder, Code
  19. iDrive screen displays two warnings about the brakes while coding happens, but both go away by the end of coding
  20. coding completes with zero errors
  21. Vehicle Profile within Expert Mode-Coding still shows the SPBR entry under Aftermarket_Fitment
  22. VO-Read, and the Aftermarket_Fitment folder disappears from the Vehicle Profile, which I assume means that the edited FA file with SPBR did not actually get written to the car

After saving FA, you need to write FA to VCM:

Thanks, Shawn. Are you saying that I should or should not perform the optional steps on pages 14 & 15?

It is up to you. You can write modified FA to VCM or not. For Coding, all that is needed is that modified FA be loaded in Coding Module and affected ECU's are VO Coded.

I realize that I'm being a PITA, so thanks a ton for your patience.

I'm a bit confused by your note on page 14. Does skipping or not skipping pages 14-15 "avoid the risk of causing dealership programming issues with incompatible FA addition"?

If modified FA is valid for your build, you can write FA to VCM, and dealer Programming will treat it as a factory option. If FA is not valid for your build, do not write it to VCM.

Followed the instructions but I noticed the folder descriptions were not there "Aftermarket_Fitment" and "SPBR_18_ZOLL_SPORTBRAKE" only the [8] and [1957]. Is this normal or did I miss something?

Sorry for the problem. Perhaps it is related to the PSdZData version. I don't recall the version that I used, and I don't have that info available right now. I can check later if you would like.

Aside from that problem, did the rest of the instructions work for you? Let me know if there are any errors, and I will edit my post above to include your corrections.

No, no problem it worked! Big difference in braking, firmer pedal and definitely more bite. The instructions were spot on. Thank you all!

Happy to help!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you bleed the brakes after installing the new calipers?

Ironically, I'm still fighting a VERY soft brake pedal. I did the full ISTA bleed procedure, including the cycling/vibration of the DSC system. However, I did the ISTA procedure with the engine NOT running. I'm going to try the ISTA bleed procedure again with the engine actually running to see if that fixes it. I've already gone through 3 L of brake fluid and ordered 2 L more, so the cost is starting to add up ($25/L). I'm using the Pentosin DOT4 LV (low viscosity) brake fluid.

I just did the standard bleed/flush procedure using a pressure/power bleeder. I did however do it 3 times since initially I thought that was the cause of soft pedal. Makes me want to try to Ista process to see if I get better brake performance. I used the same brake fluid you did.

Thanks in advance!
