M3 Control Arm Help & Suggestion (Caster Camber Plate Suggestion)
Well I definitely pushed the limits, I recently did M3 control arms on my 2017 340i rwd, and then got some et30 18x9 ARC-8 with 255/40r18s. I am very much so rubbing the fenders mainly from the forward caster of the arms.
I was hoping with some camber/caster plates I could correct the caster and adjust camber to get stuff to not rub, I am having trouble finding a caster/camber plate that will allow me to pull my caster back, does anyone have any suggestions? Attached are some pics. |

In summary, I wouldn't use camber plates to correct the issue since, the already added camber from the m control arms and the future camber for the plates will be a lot. Adjustable caster bushings could potentially resolve your forward rubbing issue but not the poke issue. |

I wonder if OP had also done the thrust arms. Like I said in my previous post, they didn't fix the castor issue for me but perhaps it would for him as others have reported? For added value, my caster before the M LCA's and thrust arms was 7.2 L and 7.5 R. After the M upgrade it was 8.4 L and 8.6 R. |

When I had an F22 I swapped both front arms to fix both camber, then castor issues. I do recall needing a spacer though to fit the thrust arm properly to the mount point on the subframe. There is a ton of info on this for this platform and the f22. Keep searching. You’ll find someone else whose done the same thing.

I recall doing the same thing. Here is the thread that I used going into very great depth on how to go about it. https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1079766 |

Although I'm unaware of the reason OP chose to use M-arms.
If it was for the monoball bushings, I'd swap out the M3 arms to standard F3/4 series arms with monoballs, such as VAC, Millway, Dinan, Turner, etc. and get Millway or other quality camber plates if extra negative camber was desired |

If not that, perhaps it's all in the F80's subframe? By fender shape I meant is the wheel arch arc moved forward to compensate for the wheel being further forward? Interesting stuff. I'm keen on this mod but not keen on how the front wheels sit in the arches afterwards. There must be a way re centre the wheel again using stock F80 parts? |
