No. Last ISTA version not requiring a PC HWID specific license is 4.39.2x.

Hi guys. New here. My 335i M-Sport has also developed the LED issues on the gear shift. Is the ISTA+ s/w difficult to use? What tools do I need?
Grateful for any hints since I don't want to get into something I can't handle and end up stuffing things up.
