Vland GTS light behaviour

I just installed the set on my car and while everything works I'm a bit puzzled about their behaviour. If I have my lights set on Auto then they are completely dark, the dragonscales don't light even though the angel eyes on the front do. Is that normal?

You might need to code in the rear lights to be daytime running lights, thats what I have done and they work when set to auto.

Yes, that’s normal… DRL’s by default are only for the front of the car.

You need to code rear DRL with something like bimmercode

And if you want the startup animation you need to make sure the light switch is on auto , and welcome light is enabled in the I drive

The thing is that I have a EU-spec F33 LCI and I'm 99% sure that the DRL for the OEM taillights did light up during driving with the Auto light mode.

Which option in Bimmercode are we talking about exactly?

If the car has 8TL option code it does that.
You are looking at the REM module in BimmerCode where you can change it.

I found a thread that tells you what needs changed to enable rear DRL if you don't have the VO code 8TL enabled.

Yes that solution is what I am refering to. It’s also available in BimmerCode easy mode.

VO-code is basically a template of several FDL-code settings. Also know as cheatsheets in the BMW-coding world. Bimmercode easy mode does the same, 1 setting might change several FDL-parameters. You can verify that by flip a switch in bimmercode easy mode and then go to the FDL-parameters in expert mode (if you happen to know them) and you’ll see the FDL has changed

Thanks everybody for chiming in, got it working. Enabled the DRL option in Bimmercode and the tails light up properly now.
